This work carries a great deal of personal emotion. It was the first time (and probably the last) I made myself a facial mould. During the process, I had a panic attack and felt I couldn’t breath. I later discovered that when I was a baby I had an accident and was suffocated by a pillow. This early life experience must have remained stored in my unconscious memory and became released while my face was being bounded. To express this experience, I made a latex copy of my face and warped it in a PVC film. I took a plastic bag and recorded the sound of my self-inflicted suffocation.
